Now days lots of people have personal web sites, whether they are hosted on space provided by their ISP (Internet Service Provider) or they could be on one of the free social networking sites like My Space or Face Book. You can fill a personal site with family photographs and anything your friends and family will be interested in. You could have pages on your holidays with photographs, family occasions like birthdays or weddings or you could just have a blog where you post on a regular basis things that are going on in your life.
You can have sections on your hobbies and interests, write reviews for films you have seen or books you have read. Another option is to have a contact form on the site, users can then send you a message directly from one of the pages without knowing your e-mail address.
Don't add information like when and how long you are going on holiday but by all means add your holiday photographs when you come back.
You could add a secure area to your site where only users you specify can log in and access the area, this you could reserve to family and close friends, where the rest of the site is accessible by the general public.
It is difficult to know what and how much to add to your site, use your own judgment and common sence and you will have a great looking site.
